Simple. A word that eludes me and one I consistently am refining in my life these days. For someone who is detail-oriented (me) and loves to see life's full spectrum of nuances this word challenges me. This painting took shape on the beach and I decided to try painting on sand for a new twist. Painting on texture is a far departure from my typical smooth surface yet it softened the detail and welcomed in simplicity. And those bold, dark red rananculus waivered freely in the ocean breeze and reminded me to remain open to life's gentle shifts in direction. On that note here is my recommitment to painting everyday - by carving out space for me and my passion the result is happiness = priceless.
