I started this painting months ago, let the layers of paint marinate and came back to it this past weekend along the shores of Grandview Beach. I had 10 stems of white rananculus stuck gently in the sand for mere reference. And then brought it back to my studio for the final details. I was in awe of the vibrant ocean blue and soft sunny blue skies and well, these hues emerged in the painting. And there is an ironic gesture of sand that naturally made its way onto the canvas- a texture I find soothing to the soul. Here's to my creative groove and continual paint practice that brings me bliss and to a place of solace in the same breath.
